How It Works

Three Tracks. One Clear System.

Think of it like a traffic light for crisis response. Every situation maps to one track, and every track has a clear set of actions — so your team always knows the next step.

TRACK A

Monitor & Support

The person is struggling but not in immediate danger. Stay present, verify protective factors are in place, and execute a witnessed handoff to a trusted support person.

Key action

Verified handoff — don't just hope, confirm

TRACK B

Escalate to Professional

There are signs of abuse, neglect, or a caregiver failing to protect. This triggers a mandated report — your legal obligation. Report what you observed; let the professionals investigate.

Key action

Call DCPP — telling your supervisor alone is NOT enough

TRACK C

Emergency / Immediate Action

Someone is in immediate danger right now. Stay with them, call 911 or 988, secure any lethal means, and hand off to emergency responders. Your presence IS the intervention.

Key action

Stay — do NOT leave them alone

The guiding rule: When in doubt, always choose the more protective option. You will never be in trouble for choosing safety.
